Best of Gujarat

Day-1: RAJKOT - GONDAL

We begin our Best of Gujarat Tour by driving to Gondal, (220 km /4-5 hours drive) where you will stay in the luxurious comfort of huge, high-ceilinged rooms of the Riverside Palace/Orchard Palace, both 19th century heritage homes that has been converted into a heritage hotel. See the royal fleet of vintage and classic cars, the 1748 AD Naulakha Palace and the Swaminarayan Temple. O/n at one of the two heritage homes.

Day-2: GONDAL - GIR

Drive to Gir (123 km/3 hours ) stopping enroute at Junagadh to see the imposing Uparkot Fort, Buddhist cave-sites, 3rd century BC Ashoka rock edicts, the flamboyant royal mausoleum complexes and the palace museum filled with Nawabi treasures.
Reach Gir Birding Lodge around lunch time.After lunch and few hours rest, we leave for our safari in the Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary. This deciduous forest is the last abode of the Asiatic lion and also has a thriving panther (leopard) population. It also has a large population of chital or spotted deer, sambar, blue bull antelope, chinkara gazelle, chousingha (the world’s only four-horned antelope), wild boar and other wildlife. A number of attractive birds can be seen on the game-drive trail. Dinner and o/n at Gir Birding Lodge.

Day-3 & 4: GIR NATIONAL PARK & WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Spend the entire day in the Gir forests looking out for the big cats and watch other wildlife. Dinner and o/n at Gir Birding Lodge.

Day-5: GIR - DIU

Today, we drive to Diu stopping enroute at Somnath to see the shore temple , Sun Temple, Ahilya Temple and other monuments. Spend the evening at the beaches. Overnight stay at Radhika Resort/Richie Rich Hotel on Nagoa Beach.

Day-6: DIU

Sightseeing at Diu. We visit the Portuguese fort, churches and museum . Stay at Radhika/Richie Rich.

Day-7: DIU - PALITANA

After a late breakfast, we drive to Palitana and stay at Vijay Vilas, a heritage hotel.

Day-8: PALITANA - SAYLA

In the morning we visit the temple-covered hill of Shatrunjaya over Palitana. After lunch, we drive to Sayla. Overnight stay at a heritage hotel.

Day-9: SAYLA

In the morning we visit the villages located around Sayla. These villages are known for their weaving and beadwork, stepwells, and historic monuments. Overnight stay at a heritage hotel.

Day-10: SAYLA - RAJKOT

Return to Rajkot, where we go for a sightseeing tour of the city.
